I am horrible housewife. Seriously, I am terrible with clutter. I do clean and disinfect which means that I shift clutter around to get to where I need to clean so it looks even messier after I clean! I get so caught up in writing, crafting, working out, and playing with the kids that tidying my home gets put on the backburner.
However, my messiness causes friction with my husband, son, and father who all need order to be able to think. My daughter thinks like me so I need to be a role model for her to follow.
I did a massive purge in November so the bulk of the extra clutter is gone. Each week, I pick one area to reorganize.
Each night I tidy up the main living areas.
Hopefully, the habits will stick.
Along the way I will share any tips or tricks I come up with the make the jobs easier and faster to accomplish because as a friend (whose home is always spotless) told me, everybody hates cleaning but they do it anyway.
Don’t tell my husband, but it is MUCH easier to clean now that most of the clutter is put away! Now I just have to focus on not letting the clutter build up again!
And I am taking you guys with me for the ride because if I succeed at this then ANYBODY can. So feel free to cheer me on or give me some helpful tips along the way.

I totally also have issues with smelly areas. Thanks for sharing this blog, it is so amazing and I will definitely be doing it tomorrow for every room in my house. And maybe, when my son leaves for the Marines, they’ll let him take one as well.
