I’m not going to lie. I am not a fan of snacking on Peeps! The sweetness is too much for even my Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donut-loving self. I always give serious side-eye to my friends as they pop Peep after Peep into their mouths each spring.
Even my candy-loving kids are a hard pass on more than one Peep a year! The pastel colors and cute chicks and bunnies are so adorable that I really want to like them. I just can’t stomach having all that sugary marshmallow in my mouth.

That is until I discovered what happens when you actually use Peeps instead of just eating them.
They might not be great straight out of the package, but once you melt them, mix them, or bake them into something else… it’s a completely different story.
Check out these 25 recipes that use the marshmallow candy and let me know which is your favorite.
20 Yummy Uses for Marshmallow Peeps
If you end up with extra Peeps after Easter, there are more ways to use them than you might think. Instead of letting them sit in the pantry, these ideas turn them into something actually worth eating.
Some of these are quick and easy. A few are a little unexpected. And a couple completely changed how I look at Peeps.
- Peeps Rice Krispie Treats – A colorful twist on the classic that melts down smoother than regular marshmallows. This one is always a hit with kids.
- Peeps S’more Skillet – Gooey, melty, and made for sharing. This is one of those desserts that disappears fast once it hits the table.
- Peeps Cake Batter Candy – Sweet, soft, and a little unexpected. If you like cake batter flavor, this one is surprisingly good.
- Layered Peeps Cookie Bars – These look impressive but are much easier to make than they seem. The layers come together into something really fun.
- Swimming Peeps Jello Cups – A playful treat that kids get excited about instantly. These are just as fun to make as they are to eat.
- Peeps Playdough – Not edible, but a fun way to use extra Peeps with younger kids. This one kept mine busy longer than I expected.
- Peeps Cupcakes – A simple way to dress up basic cupcakes without much extra effort. Great for parties or classroom treats.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Peep Fudge – Rich, sweet, and definitely more of a dessert than a snack. This one leans more indulgent than most on the list.
- Peeps Pudding Cups – Quick to throw together and easy for little hands. These are perfect when you need something simple.
- Peeps Pizza – One of the more unexpected ideas on this list. It sounds strange, but it’s actually a fun dessert twist.
- Easter Peeps Fruit Dip – A lighter option that still feels like a treat. Great if you want something sweet without going overboard.
- Peeps Sunflower Brownie – This one looks much more complicated than it is. It makes a really cute centerpiece for Easter gatherings.
- Red Velvet Peppermint Cupcake – A more unique flavor combo that stands out from typical Peeps desserts. Definitely one of the more creative options.
- Nesting Peeps – Simple and fun, especially for younger kids. This is more about the presentation than the recipe.
- Peep Cake Bars – Soft, sweet, and easy to slice for a crowd. These are great if you need something shareable.
- Peeps Popcorn – Sweet and crunchy with a little bit of surprise. This one works well for movie nights or snacks.
- Peeps Blondies – A richer dessert option that feels a little more grown-up. Still fun, but less sugary than some others.
- Monster Peep Cookies – Colorful, messy, and exactly what kids love. These are more about fun than perfection.
- Peeps Smores – A quick twist on a classic with a slightly different texture. Easy to make and hard to mess up.
- Peeps Pops – One of the easiest options on the list. Great if you need something fast that still looks fun.
I haven’t tried all of these delicious desserts. So far I’m partial to Peeps S’mores and Peeps Rice Krispy Treats. I can’t wait to try the different variations of the Peep cookie bars!
We used the Jack O’Lantern Peeps as a brownie topping in the fall and they were delicious and cute! Check out the recipe right here.
I might even try an Easter themed peanut butter cheerio ball recipe using Peeps like I did for Valentines and Saint Patrick’s Day. If you like easy snack ideas like that, you’ll probably find a few favorites in this list too.

I’m with you. Peeps are not my favorite to eat. Maybe I’m a bad mom because I don’t think our son has ever tasted them.

My kids love candy and both of them make the “blech” face whenever they see it at the store lol.
