I have an issue with dehydration. Unless it is coffee, I tend to forget to drink it. I know, no bueno. But water gets boring.
Luckily for me, I found Honest® Tea at Kroger. The new unsweet Peach Ginger is a refreshing beverage choice that tastes great. With no added sugar, it’s just a tad sweet. It’s organic, Fair Trade, and brewed with real tea leaves, just like you’d brew at home. You can grab a coupon here get $0.25 off a bottle at Kroger through 4/22/17. Better yet, you can use the coupon up to five times in one transaction!
Our on the go lifestyle means that we have to bring our hydration with us. We go through quite a few plastic bottles while out and about.
Since Earth Day is a few days away, I thought I would share a fun upcycle craft with you. I’ve been meaning to do something with these bottles since I saw this craft for upcycled 2-liter soda bottles.
The bottoms of the Honest® Tea bottles are sturdy. The circular indent makes me think it would be a perfect way to store hair ties or ear buds — or both! Two items every gym loving girl needs in her life.
How to upcycle bottles into a hair tie holder and earbud organizer
Materials:
- At least two empty Honest® Tea bottles
- a zipper
- scissors
- box cutter or craft knife
- Sharpies* optional
- hot glue gun and glue
- small piece of felt
Directions:
Wash and dry the empty Honest® Tea bottles.
Remove the labels.
The bottles are segmented!
Use the box cutter or craft knife to cut the bottom segment off of both bottles. Make sure to also include the curved small segment.
Use the bottle ends to measure how long a zipper you need. Cut the end of the “stop” end of the zipper to size. I used a 9-inch zipper so I only had to cut off 1 inch.
Cut a small piece of felt to fit the end and glue it to the end of the zipper so the zipper doesn’t go off the track.
Then glue to one bottle bottom.
Unzip the zipper and carefully glue each side to a bottle bottom so it makes a zippable holder.
How easy was that?! Make sure you check out Honest® Tea for more ideas!

So smart. I love ideas that recycle useful house hold things out of everyday disposables. Looks very handy not only for ear buds and hair ties.

You’re so creative! I never would have thought to use a zipper. I would have cut the bottle and then proceed to shove the stuff in the container LOL
