Earlier today, my friend Lauren with Oh, honestly! asked for April Fools Day prank ideas. It reminded me of our favorite prank!

Fake pooh. (Yeah we are super sophisticated around here.)

If you have ever potty trained a toddler, you know the gut squeezing terror of find a lone piece of poop chilling on the carpet or under the table.

Poop is funny, gross, and terror inducing. It’s fun too.

So I thought I would show you guys how we make it with a little video tutorial.

My husband taught the kids how to make this easy fake poop a few years ago. We’ve had a lot of fun pranking people with it.

All you need is

  • warm water in a bowl
  • 2-4 empty toilet paper cardboard rolls
  • chopped cashews (my daughter is allergic to peanuts but not tree nuts)
  • baby oil* optional

It’s simple to make.

Tear the cardboard roll into tiny pieces.

Squirt baby oil in the warm water.

Add the little cardboard pieces.

Add the nuts.

Let soak for 5-10 minutes.

Then grab a fist full of the pulpy mess and nuts and squeeze out excess water. Use your imagination to shape it into the perfect piece of poop.

We like to lay our fake poop on the kitchen floor when we are expecting guests. Then we go about our business as if it isn’t there and wait….

The screams and shrieks from our victims are hilarious!

Since I am posting this for the world to see, I am sure I won’t be able to prank any of my friends or family members with this anymore. It’s a price I am willing to pay…but only for you guys!

Happy April Fool’s Day and have fun!

I would love some new ideas and pranks so leave me a little comment with your favorites.
