I’ve been such a gym slacker since school started! Granted we are super busy–which is unintentional by the way.
In my world, the gym and my kitchen are intricately bound to one another. If I work out, I cook healthy, nutritious meals. If I don’t, I cook delicious, carb-heavy comfort food. It’s why I have this lovely muffin top and strong muscles.
I love sweets. Even people who don’t know me can tell how much I love desserts by looking at my Pinterest profile!
When I don't work out, I don't eat right. Don't give in to late night ice cream cravings. Stay strong with this easy treat. Share on XI reviewed Alpine Punch Isopure Aminos last week when I transitioned back to my workout routine. I’m not back to 6 days a week but I made it 4 days this week so I am on the right track. The Isopure Aminos have made a significant impact. My muscle soreness has not been bad at all!
Now that I am back to exercising, I’m motivated to eat better.
I do still get the urge to scavenge for treats in the freezer after the kids have gone to bed. It’s why I like to make my strawberry cheesecake protein pops. The bad thing about the popsicles is that when I run out, I have to make more…then wait for them to freeze.
Sometimes, I just want a quick treat.
But I don’t want to be up all night with a sugar high.
(I’ve included an affiliate link to my current favorite blender bottle.) I’ve been drinking the Isopure Aminos with water in a shaker bottle post workouts and in the evening. The vitamins and the added l-theanine, which helps calm the mind, along with the BCAAs help with over night body and mind recovery. It’s actually very tasty.
But even tasty things can use some spicing up every once in a while. The food boredom is real, folks.
So the other night, when I was craving some creamy deliciousness packed with sugar and calories, I opted for this easy treat.
Protein Punch Pudding
- 1/2 super cold plain greek yogurt
- 1/4 scoop Isopure Aminos
- 1 TBS of plain cereal or granola (I used Special K because we only had some crumbs left and I knew my kids wouldn’t eat the dregs in the box.)
It made a creamy fruit punch flavored treat that was enough to kill that craving so that I could go to sleep without thinking about Rocky Road. The added benefit is that I got in my BCAAs and antioxidants.
Do you get sore after working out? Have you thought about supplementing with Aminos?
