Whether you’ve been blogging for just a few weeks, or several years, it can get overwhelming at time. I like to work smarter, not harder, so I’m hoping I can help you do that as well! The resources listed here are affiliate links to ebooks and apps that have helped me grow my blog tremendously! I consider them the best blog resources for the little blog. With all the options out there, it’s nice to be able to narrow it down.
This post helps answer the question: “What are the must haves for my blog to be successful?”

Getting the Traffic
Skyrocket Your Blog– Growing your pageviews is the best way to increase your blog and affiliate income.
We know that Google Analytics is the golden ticket to increasing pageviews, but if you don’t know how the platform works, there’s no point in wasting time on it! GA can be scary, for new and experienced bloggers alike, so Skyrocket Your Blog makes it easy to understand. The authors, Crystal and Kelli, break it up into bite-sized pieces so it’s not so overwhelming.
I recommend reading through this entire ebook, taking notes, and creating a plan of action so you can actually work through the book as well. You can also purchase the workbook! Then, create a post about what you’ve learned (briefly summarizing one of the sections, not giving away any of the “secrets” or copying and pasting anything). When bloggers read your post, they will buy the ebook right away! It’s one of the most valuable ebooks I’ve read.

Blogging on the Side – “Where passion and profit meet” is what the author talks about in the Blogging on the Side ebook. This is another book you’ll want to read, take notes, and work through. If you’re working on both books at once, I recommend taking 15-20 minutes for each, each day (if possible). I know we’re all busy, but investing into education is the best way to grow your blog!
This book covers discovering what type of blogger you are, what to do before you go viral, why nobody’s reading your blog, design elements, sponsored posts, and more. It’s in-depth but just like the ebook above, it’s broken into bite-sized pieces that make it less overwhelming.
Remember what I said about working smarter, not harder? Tailwind hooks you up!
Tailwind – Speaking of being busy and not having enough time, Tailwind can help solve that problem for you! As you know, Pinterest is a huge traffic source for many (most?) blogs. You probably also know that Pinterest is a black hole and a time sucker, so scheduling pins is the way to go.
Tailwind is unique in many ways, standing out in the crowd of Buffer, Board Booster, and a few other schedulers that work for your Pinterest account. With Tailwind, you can schedule several pins at drafts all at once. This means you can bulk schedule drafts, then edit all the pin descriptions etc at once, saving even more time and improving your workflow.
Pin from your Pinterest feed, from the pin itself, from your browser while reading an article, and from the Tailwind app itself.
Sign up for Tailwind’s affiliate program and earn a free month for each sign-up.
Unofficial Tax Book for Bloggers – Once you start making all that money, you’re going to need to keep track of it for tax purposes! Being self-employed means you will get tons of tax write-offs. Use the tips in this ebook to help you figure out what you can claim as an expense, etc.
Studiopress – Earning money on your blog takes it to the next level. However, you have to make sure your blog design is crisp and clean before people will want to stay on your site long enough to make you some money! Try Design Palette Pro and easily customize your theme. Don’t spend time or money learning to code or hiring someone to customize your blog.
I will add more resources as I discover new ones that help me with my blog. Leave your favorites in the comments!
