Easy Decoupage Gift Idea: Pink Fabric on Plate Project for Spring
This tutorial contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience.
Materials:
- Pink Fabric – I picked up a pink fabric bag from the church rummage sale
- Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
- Scissors
- Paper image of a flower -I grabbed mine from a gardening book I found at the church rummage sale
- Clear Glass Plate– church rummage sale find for 50 cents!
- Wax Paper
- Paper Towel — wet for clean up
Directions:
Cut out your paper flower image. Using a foam brush, cover the plate with mod podge.
Affix your paper flower. Use your fingers to smooth the paper onto the plate to get rid of any bubbles.
This may take a few minutes. Let dry.
Cover your plate with mod podge and affix fabric to it. Press firmly to smooth the fabric and paper (as it may soften up with the second coat of mod podge) and continue to smooth from the center to the edges.
Use sharp scissors to trim the fabric from the plate.
Smooth the edges of the plate and add additional mod podge to the edges as needed.
With a wet paper towel, remove any mod podge that is on the front side of the plate. Remove before it dries.
Cover fabric with another coat of mod podge and let dry completely.
