Active families tend to enjoy active vacations, right? During school breaks our family makes it a point to go on at least one adventure. While most people immediately think of theme parks and beaches when it comes to “Florida vacations” there is much more to the Sunshine State! Despite the heat and humidity, there are tons of Florida Outdoor adventures to be had! Here are a few fun outdoor activities for you to try when you next visit Florida.
Marsh Landing Adventures – The marshes and wildlife are one of the draws of the state. Get up close and personal with the terrain at Marsh Landing Adventures on a 90-minute airboat tour. It’s in Kissimmee, Florida, and has excellent reviews.
Money-Saving Pro Tip: Open the Rakuten App and book your tour through TripAdvisor. You may be able to get 4% cashback. If you don’t have a Rakuten account, check it out! The app is free to install and can be used on your computer. It used to be called “Ebates.” When you purchase through the site at many retailers, restaurants, and travel agencies you can earn cashback. Several times a year, Rakuten sends you a check with your rebates or deposits it to your Paypal account. The pennies add up and I love earning cashback on things I was planning to buy anyway.
Canyons Zip Line – Now that my kids are getting older, I want to do more “grown-up” things with them. Ziplining is sure to be fun. This Zip Line company is located in Ocala, near the springs. This is a gorgeous area in Florida.
My son had a blast zip lining in a friend’s backyard. He would love this adventure.
Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park – Want to try something new? Go ahead and give this tree adventure park a try. Being able to play for endless hours as an adult and a kid? Sign us up! Whether you’re local to the Kissimmee area or are vacationing, you need to check this place out. They also have zip lines and more!
Balloon Rides – There are a few companies throughout Florida that will give you a balloon ride. Can you imagine doing this with your kids on Spring Break in Florida? They would have a ball.
Or do something free
Enjoy the beach – I know this may be a cliché thing to list as something to do in Florida during Spring Break, but it makes sense to me. You can spend hours at the beach doing whatever you want. Swimming, boating, snorkeling, and whatever else. Just make sure your kids are trained in water safety.
Head to a National Park – Something you shouldn’t forget about Florida is that we have a ton of National Parks. Pick one that is close to you and spend time hiking and enjoying the beautiful weather that Florida has to offer.
Pick up a rod and learn how to fly fish. My tweens don’t even miss their phones and video games when fishing with Grandpa.
As you can see, there are new and exciting things to do in Florida. You can also do traditional things with your family and still have a ball this spring break. Spending time outdoors has never been easier! Where do you have your outdoorsy adventures in Florida?
