If you have been considering taking a trip to Disney World this year, now is a perfect time! There are many significant changes happening at Disney, and this year there are so many new attractions, restaurants, and other exciting things happening in the parks. We took a couple of years off from visiting the Disney World parks. After a few years of annual passes, our kids had gotten a little too desensitized to the magic. The plus side is that after taking those years off, it’s like witnessing the kids experiencing it all over again.
New Things for Your Family to Experience at Walt Disney World
Toy Story Land- Hollywood Studios
In the summer of 2018, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is planning to open Toy Story Land. My kids loved Toy Story when they were little. If you’ve been to Disney before, then you are already familiar with the Toy Story Mania attraction. This new section of the park will allow guests into Andy’s backyard and include new rides and restaurants for park guests.
Pandora- Animal Kingdom
In May of 2017, Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened a new section of the park known as Pandora based on the world of Avatar. Since opening lines for Flight of Passage have started at 120 minutes, with some parts of the day even longer. If you have been waiting for the lines to die down so you can see the magic of Pandora yourself, there is no better time to go than right now!
“Up” Show- Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating 20 years in 2018, and to celebrate this nature theme park, they will be debuting a new show featuring the beloved characters Russell and Dug from the movie Up! Follow these characters as they discover different species of birds from all around the world on their new adventure.
New Dining- Disney Springs
Disney Springs is opening eight brand new dining spots in 2018! Here are some the expected opening dates for a few of these restaurants:
- Mari & Enzo’s Ristorante: Early 2018
- Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar: Early 2018
- Pizza Pone: Early 2018
- Wine Bar George: Mid 2018
- Jaleo: Late 2018
- Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill: Late 2018
Disney transportation
If you’ve been to the Disney parks recently, then you may have seen these special vans in their testing phase at select locations! Now, Disney is making transportation a personalized and one of a kind experience, with Minnie Vans that will transport guests around the Disney property. The current fee for this service is $20; however, prices may go up as they continue to add this service to other properties.
Disney truly is the happiest place on earth! Seriously, the only happier place in my book is on a Disney Cruise. With ticket prices slowly increasing over the years, there is no better time to go than right now. To get a quote on a magical vacation check out Destinations in Florida.

Oh man … Toy Story land?! And, I’m excited to see another show at Animal Kingdom …I’d gotten bored with the shows there when we had annual passes. Sounds like 2019 will be a good year to head back for us 😀

We finally got to Animal Kingdom for Pandora last Fall, too. definitely was an experience : Plus, we are going back this summer and so excited for Toy Story Land. Disney definitely does newer updates up and makes them that much more enticing for sure. So, that is why we keep returning over and over as each time there always seems to be something new to indeed experience 🙂
