On the night before the first day of school, both of my kids made their own lunches! I was pleasantly surprised. They were so cute and excited.
I watched as they chose fruits and vegetables. They made their own healthy school lunches without my help.
I watched in amazement as my second and third graders showed me how grown up they are. It was only last year that I had to work within the confines of their pickiness to pack healthy lunches. They have definitely added more to their diets this year.
Where have my babies gone?
The night before the second day of school, my babies returned to their former selves. I was back on lunch duty.
I don’t blame them. We get home from soccer late. The containers in their new Bentology lunch boxesneed to be washed each night.
I don’t mind it so much. I only have a few more years before they no longer let me get away with this cuteness.
