Ask Away Friday with The Mad Mommy herself!

One day I was losing time scrolling through my Facebook news feed and saw a post in one of the hundred or so facebook groups I belong to from Echo, of The Domain of the Mad Mommy, looking for an Ask Away Friday partner.  It has been months since I participated in this fun linkup and Echo is one of my best blogging buddies so I jumped right in.

Ask Away Friday is a link up where bloggers swap ten questions so that their readers can get to know them better.  You never know what questions you will be asked!  It’s a fun way get to know another blogger and also to meet others.

So here goes…

1. You just rebranded! What should people know about your new name?

Yes! I finally did it and I am glad! I think that the most important thing I want people to know about my new name is that it is easier to actually say out loud than “scruggbug corner” was.  I started noticing that friends and family members would say “scrugg…bug corner?” like they weren’t sure that it should be said out loud.  So now it is easy to tell everyone you know about that great blog that you love 😉 without have to say what the site is about.  It’s pretty self-explanatory.

The kids HATE the new name but I am confident that as they get older, they will appreciate it when their friends discover my blog and don’t call them “scruggbugs.”

2. What is the scariest part of rebranding?

Every single part.  It was all scary.  I wasn’t sure if my site would break.  I wasn’t sure that my readers would approve.  I wasn’t sure about anything, really.  Luckily, I had help from the best! (Thank you Amber!!!)  I also have a great support system that was cheering me on every step of the way.

3. I love your smoothie recipe! What is your favorite smoothie?

Ha! The smoothie recipe I shared ( read here) was actually my favorite.  I eat it almost every day because I love it.  I make a similar version without the protein powder for the kids.  My second favorite was turned into a popsicle.  I will be sharing that one next week.  Here’s a hint–it is green and looks like vomit but tastes like heaven (to me).

4. Your rehydration Popsicles are awesome too! Which one is your kids’ favorite?

Pea loved the Frozen one because…Elsa.  But, if I were to pick their favorite based on how quickly they eat it, I would have to choose the Cantaloupe popsicle.  I personally have a hard time deciding between the Mandarin Orange Spritzer and the Cantaloupe.

5. Gym. What is your favorite workout?

I love weight training.  I used to do it all with dumb bells and kettlebells at home but am now learning how to lift with the bar.  I love weight training for the same reason that I love crafting! When I lift weights, I am designing my own body. (That sounds weird, huh?) There is a tangible result that I take pride in knowing that I made happen.

6. Craft. What is your favorite craft post so far?

It is so hard to pick!  I think it has to be the princess hair tie holder.

modge podge idea, decoupage kid craft, decoupage idea, kids organization

It was a spontaneous idea that I came up with to solve a specific organization problem–and it is so cute!  It’s a craft even the most non-crafty mom can make.
7. Laundry. Folding or putting away, which do you hate more?

Both A and B.  If I have to pick, it would be the putting away.  I can spend an hour watching The Blacklist while folding (everything but the socks).  I can’t stand to put them away almost as much as I loathe pairing socks.

8. What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?

Eating ice cream or chocolate by myself after the kids have gone to bed.  I have to admit though that since I started working out regularly, I don’t like to eat either.  I am the weirdo that will eat whatever I please when I am not working out but then when I start to exercise I refuse to ruin that work with a bowl of ice cream.

9. Paris or Ireland, which would you choose?

Ireland.  I have been to Paris and England a couple of times.  The grass was so green and lovely in England that I imagine it would be even prettier where the rainbows end.  There were parts of Paris that I liked but not many!  I used to speak French very well and liked that aspect of the trips there but I really didn’t like many of the people I met.

10. What is the best memory of this year, so far?

There have been many.  I’ve gotta say that we made some pretty good memories on vacation back in September.  I loved seeing the kids tackling the hubs.  I love seeing them draw up plans for the house they want us to build when we move.  I love hearing them excited by whatever the future holds for us.

There you have it! Make sure you head over the Echo’s blog to see what I asked her.
