So without further ado…drum roll please…wait, stop (don’t judge me for question #1 k? Thanks)…back to the drum roll…
I also DESPISE folding laundry. What is the longest you have every let laundry stay in the basket?
Oh goodness. I may lose readers after this one. I think it was three years? When I was pregnant with Pork Chop, I was just so tired and so…big. I put a basket of clean clothes on the pool table we had at the time. I would even fold some of the clothes from time to time. I just never put them back in the dresser. Then I just kept adding laundry to it. It actually ended up ALL on the pool table. My husband would sort the clothes into piles. Right before we moved, we sold the pool table so I had to fold the clothes and pack them. Now it rarely goes longer than a week. I’ve greatly improved lol.
Your ‘scrugglets’ are adorable. You say that you don’t really like photos. Do the scrugglets? *Bonus for a recent photo*
Thank you! Pea loves getting her photo taken by me, the Hubs, or my cousin, who is a photographer. But, she isn’t really cooperative with anybody else. I got a DSLR for Christmas and I’ve been taking photos of the kids ALL THE TIME. They’ve actually gotten so used to it that they ignore me while I shoot.
Every once in a while, Pork Chop gives me this “really?” look though.
Would you rather…
Be half your height or double your weight?
I would rather be half my height which would make me about 2 foot 6! I almost doubled my weight when I was pregnant and it was horrible. At least if I am short, I will still be able keep up with my kids, see my feet, put on my undies while standing…you know, the important stuff. I would just borrow Pea’s stepping stools. She is about 2’6” and she pulls chairs up to the counters or carries around her step stool. I could do that.
Have magical powers (like Charmed) or super powers (like Justice League)?
Magical powers like charmed. I would have to run, fly, speed around all the time as a super hero. I could just magic things from my spot on the couch with my laptop if I had magical powers.
Be gifted Free Music for a lifetime or Free Coffee (or Tea)?
Coffee. Tully’s French Roast k-cups to be exact.
Name 3 things you would wanna do if only you could…
- I would want to be able to tell my husband that he could quit working because my blog was bringing in enough income to support us. I want us to both be able to work from home doing things we love.
- I would hire a professional organizer on retainer
- I would hire a team of housekeepers
I know you can’t resist the Magic of Disney. How many times have you been to Disney as a single woman, as a couple, as a family?
I think I went 2 or 3 times as a single woman (as a child and teenager.) My husband and I maybe went once before the kids were born. As a family? I think we’ve gone at least 20 times in the last four years. This year I have resisted the urge. My passes are expiring soon though so it is getting harder not to just put the kids in the car and surprise them. It’s a two hour drive and they recognize the way lol.
My family is prepping for our first Disney Trip. What are the top 5 places we Must See?
Yay! I get so excited when people tell me they are going to Disney for the first time. You have such a wide range of ages on Team Haywood. I think you’ll find something for everyone to enjoy. My top five (since I have a five and six year old) are Everything at Magic Kingdom, The Lion King Show, a Bug’s life, and Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Star Tours at Hollywood Studios and Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios.
What is you favorite Disney memory with your family (Hubby & Kiddies)?
My favorite Disney memory was when my kids were both toddlers. We walked in to the street party parade at Magic Kingdom and both of them were entranced. Pea got up and clapped and danced. Pork Chop was riding on his Daddy’s shoulders. I’ll never forget how happy we all were during that one parade. It’s still my favorite.
Snap a photo of your favorite Blogging spot then describe why you love it.
My favorite blogging spot is anywhere I can sit and write. If I have to work on photos then I tend to sit at my desktop since I have Photoshop loaded there. My favorite place inside the house is at the kitchen table…because it is really close to the Keurig. My favorite place outside the house is on the front bench or on the back porch near the pool. That photo down there can count for both. I was working on this post outside when I stood up and snapped the photo.
As a mom who recently made the transition to being at home what is you Go To Daily Mom attire? Double Bonus points for a picture!
In the winter I wore yoga pants and tee shirts. But I am a Florida girl that spends a lot of time at soccer fields, parks, or the zoo with the kids. Now that the weather is better, I am back to my normal ULTRA STYLISH, running shorts, tank top, and flip flops. To be fair, it’s pretty much the same thing I would wear when I was a working mom and not at work.
There you have it. MrsTee asked me some pretty hard questions but as they say, “the truth shall set you free.” Now that everybody knows my laundry shame, I feel a huge weight off my shoulders.
Gracielle says
I have a clean basket of laundry in my family room and one in the dryer. Life has gotten much easier now that I’ve accepted that there will always be laundry – dirty, sorted, washed, dried, unfolded, folded, and not too often put away. We just did Magic Kingdom and a day was not enough! I would love to go back with the kids and explore Animal Kingdom or one of the other parks!

My husband and I are the only ones that ever put away laundry in this house. The kids laundry is in baskets or on the floor…anything in the dresser rarely gets worn. How terrible is that?!

Last month, I finally went through and put away all the clothes in my room. The kids came in a gasped! They said they’d never see the carpet in there!! LOL!!

Thank you Echo! I think it’s a fun way to let others know my shame (laundry struggles) and what makes me tick (my k cups) lol

OMGosh Herchel this was so much fun! I am so glad you had fun with each question and reading your answers is making my night.
3 years huh? An entire pool table? LOL I would probably do it too but Hubby eventually gets tired of seeing me dig through them and puts them away. I guess I either have a great Hubby or I am just wearing him down…LOL I’m trying to get better though.
Pea is beyond adorable and Pork Chop’s ‘really’ look is AWEsome! Love It.
I have Tully’s French Roast and it is one (of my many) favorites! I approve of this answer…LOL
Although I don’t like being short I think I would go with had my height as well. I also gained a lot more weight than my body is used to during my last pregnancy and I was so tired and just worn out all the time I couldn’t take it.
If I lived that close to Disney I think it would be a monthly trip for us. Like going to the park or something…LOL I am so excited about this trip and your tips will definitely be noted.
Your mom outfit looks much like my go to choice when we lived in Hawaii except I lived in my CROCS!
This was so much fun! Have an amazing weekend, Herchel 😀

I’m so skinny so I’d probably want to double my weight & it wouldn’t have much difference I guess. LOL. How I envy you for being a SAHM with income. I understand it can never be that easy & as much as I want to work at home and ask my husband to do the same, I think I’m not ready yet. How does one become ready for it? 🙂
Herchel says
It’s downright scary sometimes. I don’t actually have an income lol. My husband does. It took me six years to be ready to take the leap and even then, it wasn’t really a choice as much as a necessity. I was missing so much work because of my daughter’s Juvenile Arthritis. We decided it was simply best for our family. It was hard. I had been at a very stable, very good job for almost fifteen years.
Lanaya | Raising Reagan says
Yep, that attire about suits me perfectly too! Your kiddos are so cute. I love that your daughter likes to get her picture taken. Reagan is getting into that role too, except now she likes to take pictures of herself too. A thousand and one face shots on my iPhone! Yikes! LOL
Three years in a laundry basket .. that cracks me up! Laundry is probably my favorite chore to do. Something about fresh laundry and warm clothes? No idea.
Have a great weekend!

My mother absolutely loves to fold laundry too. She even folds underwear! I have to delete my daughter’s selfies all the time because she clogs up my storage. The one thing I haven’t managed to do is to get the kids in a good picture together. 🙂
Tracie says
You are not alone in your laundry shame. I currently have a clothes basket full of all my husband’s work clothes that just sits there being refilled every week after we do laundry. I never seem to get around to actually folding and putting them away. I think it has been at least a year.
If I had Disney passes, it would be HARD for me to resit going all the time. It is so magical.

We went several weekends in a row when we first got the passes. Both kids celebrated their birthdays by choosing a vacation at Disney every year until this past. Hubs is bored with Disney but I still love it lol.
