Amazon addiction is a serious problem affecting thousands of people. (I’m sure it is. I cannot be the only person that does a happy dance when a package is at my door.)
Looking at my recent order history, I only ordered 3 items in the past thirty days. That’s an improvement from 3 a week to 3 in one month. (Oh yeahhhh)
So, dear imaginary audience, I have decided to impart some of my wisdom on you. Unless you don’t have an Amazon problem.
(You don’t have an Amazon problem? Why not! What’s wrong with you? Who else can send you pretty much anything you can think of in two days with the touch of one button? Who else has the most stable, not buggy (haha “buggy”…like the app icon, get it?) mobile app ever known to man ?)
Okay, okay, I’ll get on to the tips… or tip rather.
Stop using the buy now with 1 click button. Just don’t touch it.
This eliminates the spontaneous oh-this-is-a-cool-unicorn-mask mistakes from ending up on your doorstep.
(Look at my niece rocking the result of her spontaneous clicking.)
Put the item in your cart and close the app. If you still need it a few hours later when you reopen the app, then checkout then.
(Or don’t do this and end up with a box of useless iPhone 4 cases because your phone shattered anyway and it was just as expensive to replace the 4 as it was to upgrade to the 5…)
I am REFORMED!!!! I bet my husband wants to be super proud of me but secretly suspects I relapsed to Target. It’s taken me years to temper my Target cravings. (He’s kind of right, I guess.)
Anyway, my only purchases this month:
Individual organic milk boxes for my sons lunch. These things are super expensive at the grocery store, as in $2.99 for one 8oz box. I got a great deal and my son gets healthy milk instead of juice boxes in his lunch.
The other thing I purchased is also pretty expensive at the store so I got a good deal. Twice the size at the same price as at the store and is the only thing that helps soothes Scrugglet #2’s eczema.
And now I really want to order something. Hmmmmm I bet the Halloween costumes that my kids want are cheaper there. Plus, think of the gas I am saving! My beast of a truck has an insatiable appetite that will probably bankrupt me.
Sooooo, maybe I do have a slight problem.
If you know anyone that has the same problem, please share this post with them so I can plan an Amazon shopping clicking party.
