For years, I’ve struggled to make eating breakfast a habit. I’m just not all that interested in food in the morning.
I know that I need to eat in the morning to get my metabolism going. But beyond coffee, which is the reason I wake up in the mornings, my appetite is less than roaring for the first four hours of my day.
I’m somewhat a bit of a hypocrite, though. My son inherited my disinterest in breakfast. He doesn’t get a choice. Breakfast powers his day. With as active and bright as he is, going to school without eating something hearty is a meltdown waiting to happen. No thanks!
When I was offered the opportunity from Nature Valley to spread the word about their new three cereals, I jumped at the chance. Since testing sugar content in different brands of cereal for a chemistry class a couple of years ago, I rarely buy “unhealthy” cereal. They offer Honey Oat Clusters, Chocolate Oat Clusters, and Baked Oat Bites.
As much as I love chocolate, I prefer honey oats or baked oats in the mornings.
The school day breakfast options are limited so I am happy to report that I can add two new boxes to the rotation.
My kids like new cereal. Okay–they like all cereal.
What I wasn’t expecting was that I would like it too! It’s delicious and packed with protein.
The Baked Oat Bites are yummy dry and makes an easy snack. I’m going to bring the Baked Oat Bites to soccer practice as a snack for my daughter, who gets hungry while we watch my son play.
Grab a coupon for $1.00 off an try it. Start your day off right. Happy Cereal Day!

I have ALWAYS wanted to crush up my Nature Valley granola bars and pour milk on them. Apparently, now I don’t have to!!
