My poor door is looking bare these days. I am behind in my seasonal wreath game! School is almost out and the kids and are brainstorming wreath ideas for our next holiday wreath. Can you believe that the 4th of July is rapidly approaching? We made this adorable and simple red, white and blue wreath last year.

Wreaths are easy to craft and make a front door look so inviting. Plus there are so many creative options to choose from. I love burlap, but I also adore the simple look of yarn. Decisions, decision.

We love the summer and July 4th has always been the best part of summer. We have crazy family stories about July 4th. My Dad has actually banned fireworks and alcohol consumption at the same time at his house. (This is a pretty good decision on his part. Trust me.)
July 4th is a celebration of freedom, independence, and patriotism. We come from a family of military service. This holiday is a reminder for all of us what all the military members, government service members, and their families sacrifice so much for every day. Honoring that tradition of service to our country is one of the reasons why a 4th of July wreath is important to us. But there are so many DIY American flag wreaths to choose from that it is hard to decide what to make this year!

These are awesome. My favorite is the colorful clothespins one. I really have to ramp up my decorating for the summer holidays. We’ve been meaning to buy a flagpole but still haven’t yet. That will be a start…I hope you had a nice holiday weekend.
