[dropshadowbox align=”none” effect=”lifted-both” width=”auto” height=”” background_color=”#ffffff” border_width=”1″ border_color=”#dddddd” ]I was provided with the Good Sense Deluxe Chocolate Melting Pots for this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.[/dropshadowbox]
Halloween marks a special day for me. You know how most people get serious about working out on January 1st? I’m like that on Halloween!
I know that the holidays are when I, like most people, gain weight.
So I always get motivated to work out beforehand, hoping to prevent holiday weight gain.
Of course, the buckets of candy don’t make it any easier. My kids bring home lots of Halloween loot every year.
This year my husband and I decided not to keep the candy at home. I am not a candy person so once the chocolate is gone I’m good.
Instead of eating the leftover chocolate this year, I am using it to make our Thanksgiving goodies. I’ve never done it before because frankly, melting chocolate is a pain in the butt!
I am using this awesome little double melting pot appliance for the first time. It’s so easy to use and the possibilities are endless.
I decided to go with super simple for my first attempt which is a good thing because the kids hijacked my craft.
Easy S’mores Dipped Marshmallows
I love the SCS Direct Inc products. My kids use the Bentology lunch boxes every day. So I jumped at the chance to review the Deluxe Dual Chocolate Melting Pots.
These melting pots come with over 30 accessories like several holiday themed candy molds. (Yay!)
I hate the mess of melting chocolate. That may be why I already have tons of candy molds that I have never used for candy. (I make the most awesome Christmas ornaments with the molds to give as gifts. I will show you how soon!)
The Good Cooking Deluxe Dual Chocolate Melting Pots make melting chocolate a breeze. In fact, I didn’t have to lift a finger. Pork Chop and Pea did it all.
We decided to keep it simple with chocolate bars, crushed Grahams, and Marshmallows.
There are two pots so next time I will try melting two different colored chocolates to use on a Thanksgiving treat. (Oh yeah–this was so easy to use and clean up that dozens of ideas are popping into my head right now.)
I originally pulled out a bowl for the crushed Graham crackers. After Pea was finished crushing them, she decided that it made more sense to put it in the other melting pot since it would be off anyway.
We melted little candy bars in the first pot. It took about 3 minutes to all melt.
Then the kids speared the marshmallows, dipped them in chocolate, and then dipped them in the Graham crumbs. Then they enjoyed their tasty after school snacks.
The kids are planning to make some desserts for our Thanksgiving gathering. They are excited! I am happy that they will be busy making desserts and out from underfoot while I cook–and it’s one more thing I won’t have to prepare!
*Please note that though I didn’t really have to do anything for this project, I was supervising at all times. This appliance melts chocolate so does get hot.
Do your kids love to make stuff in the kitchen? What do they contribute to Thanksgiving Dinner? I’d love more ideas in the comments.
