If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw my shock at the 36 glue sticks I had to buy for my kindergartner and first grader. Unlike many schools in the area, our school sent the school supply lists for this August home on the last day of school last year. (If you don’t follow me on facebook, and you want to click here!) I saw this great deal at Amazon (affiliate link) but ended up getting them from Publix where they were on sale this week for 3 three packs for 2 dollars. They came out to $.22 cents a stick! Score!
But, this just goes to show that school supplies can be expensive….even on sale. I only have two kids and they are just starting their education journey so any little bit helps when it comes to saving.
Sorry to remind you that summer is almost over (though I am sure some days you are eagerly waiting for the school year to start.) If these awful summer afternoon monsoons would let up for a few days, I would be able to get the kids outside more. Hopefully, the weather in your corner of the world is less crazy than ours lately.
Because I know first hand how traumatizing school supplies can be on Mom and Dad’s wallet, I joined up with these other great bloggers to bring you this awesome Back to School Package giveaway! This giveaway will run from 7pm central July 15 through 11:59pm August 15, 2014.

Since my grandchildren live with me, buying school supplies can get very expensive. It so nice of ya’ll to offer this as a prize. My grandchildren use the computer. My granddaughter used the computer to answer questions for a History grade. My grandson used the computer to do his spelling assignments and also practices his multiplication facts on the computer. And all of the school supplies get used in school.

Great idea! This is our first year buying school supplies, too. I still haven’t gotten the list.
