My kids eat lunch at school at the time they used to eat breakfast over the summer. My son eats lunch before the fast food places switch from breakfast to lunch! Add that to 6:30pm soccer practices and you can see why healthy snacks for kids are a big deal in my family. I don’t feed my son dinner before practice like some of my friends do because he is prone to cramps if he eats anything substantial less than two hours before practice starts.
He likes to eat fruit and my strawberry cheesecake protein popsicles but sometimes he likes to have something on the go so I came up with these Peanut Butter Banana Nut Cereal Snack Balls for a healthy afternoon snack!
They are super easy to make and can be made into bars if you don’t want to get your hands dirty.
I instilled a healthy love for peanut butter and banana sandwiches (or in my daughter’s case–soy butter and banana sandwiches due to her peanut allergy) in both my kids. It’s delicious and nutritious and I think it makes even protein packed sprouted bread taste good! The yummy combo of peanut butter and banana inspired this snack recipe, for sure.

Cheerios are the perfect addition to this pre-sports practice snack, providing carbohydrates for energy. If you aren’t a fan of Banana Nut this recipe would taste delicious with any of the other flavors available! I can’t wait to try it with the multi-grain or multi-grain peanut butter Cheerios to cut down on the sweetness for some pre-workout snack bites for mom.
Cheerios aren’t just for toddlers! They make a healthy after school snack for bigger kids too.

I love how this is simple and no bake. Just mix it and let the ice box do the rest.
