Do you remember when a brown paper sack would suffice for lunch? I used to pull that crumpled up and squished bag from the pits of my backpack and spend the first 20 minutes of lunch convincing myself that I preferred my pb&j smooshed together. The flavors melded together better that way.

First, let’s start with the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01HHAW9HW” locale=”US” tag=”scrugcorne-20″] Bentology lunch boxes[/easyazon_link] I am using for Pork Chop and Pea this year! They love them. My kids are stubborn like their mommy head strong and independent. I received these lunch boxes to try out and figured they would be for me because the kids already chose the “characters” they wanted this year. I had every intention of using them to pack myself mini meals and snacks.
However, the Creeper and “sparkly pink” lunch boxes on the wish list were forgotten once the kids saw these bento style lunch boxes. (They even come with cute utensils!) I love that I won’t have to buy lower quality mass produced lunch boxes that will be falling apart and gross by December.
It’s easier and less worrisome for me to pack Pea’s lunches due to her multiple food allergies. Plus, I am intentional with the foods I pack. Right now I am concerned with her low weight so am packing her lunch with proteins and immune supporting food.
Pork Chop is eating me out of house and home. Who knew that 8 year old boys could be constantly hungry?! I’ll probably have to give him lunch money along with his lunch this year.

I started working on ways to get my picky kids to start eating healthier food last year. Sure enough, the list of foods they like to have is slowly growing.
